A colour instrument's reference routine belongs to the measurement method. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the correct references, their condition and the required sequence before comparing coating samples.

Conductivity and resistivity describe reciprocal electrical properties. A larger number does not mean the same thing in both reporting systems, so identify the quantity and units before comparing water-purity records.

High-purity water can change after exposure to air and handling. When investigating small conductivity differences, document how the sample was collected and how long it waited before measurement.

A water-treatment system's flow capability and its total treatment capacity are different planning quantities. A workshop must understand both before deciding whether equipment can support its rinse process and daily workload.

Trigger-pull count alone does not describe how much cleaner reached a defined surface. A useful process trial records both the delivered quantity and the treated area, together with the sprayer and application method.

A pendant-drop surface-tension calculation uses the actual dimensions of the drop. An attractive image without a valid scale is not enough to produce a defensible result.

Contact-angle software can fit a drop contour using different mathematical models. Record the selected method so a software-setting change is not mistaken for a coating change.

The baseline used in drop-shape analysis represents the sample surface. An incorrectly placed baseline can change the reported angle even when the underlying droplet has not changed.

A photograph of rounded droplets can illustrate appearance without providing a valid contact-angle measurement. Perspective, baseline visibility and the analysis method determine whether a numerical angle can be supported.

A specimen holder should support the test without becoming part of the measured surface unintentionally. Review contact points, shadows and the instrument footprint before collecting coating data.

Electrical power consumption does not directly describe a lamp's light output. When comparing coating inspection lamps, keep watts and lumens in separate fields and assess the actual inspection arrangement.

Reusing the same lamp does not guarantee the same inspection view. Its position, direction and distance relative to the surface can change what the observer or camera sees.
