Bottles allocated to approved sampling or demonstrations should remain distinguishable from ordinary saleable stock. Otherwise, an availability report can promise units that the business has already committed to another purpose.

A conditional rebate is not the same as a discount already earned on an order. Keep the qualifying conditions visible when using a rebate assumption in a coating purchasing forecast.

A multi-product coating order can share packaging, handling and delivery costs. Allocate those costs consistently for product analysis while ensuring the whole-order calculation includes each cost only once.

Removing a coating SKU does not necessarily remove every cost assigned to it. Before discontinuing a product on a spreadsheet result, identify which revenues and costs would actually change.

The time between sample delivery and a first order can vary widely across buyers. A single average may hide long evaluations or prospects that have not yet decided, so describe the observation window and unresolved cases clearly.

A solvent-rub result describes resistance under a specified test. It does not automatically prove that a coating has reached every property required for service or that the same result applies to another solvent.

A cycle in a linear abrasion test is not automatically equivalent to a cycle in a rotary test. Report the actual apparatus and procedure rather than converting cycle counts through an assumed universal factor.

Equal mass loss does not necessarily mean equal volume loss when materials have different densities. A coating abrasion report should explain the chosen outcome and retain the information needed for a fair comparison.

Water beading describes surface behaviour, while water absorption concerns uptake into a material or system. A photograph of droplets cannot, by itself, quantify how much water the underlying specimen absorbs during an exposure.

A liquid-repellent surface is not automatically a vapour barrier. Water-vapour transmission concerns movement through a material under defined conditions and requires evidence different from a water-drop demonstration.

A test-method designation identifies a procedure or framework, not automatically a passing grade or a superior product. A coating claim needs the result and acceptance basis, not only a familiar standard number.

A revised test method may change details that matter to comparison. Keep the edition or revision in the record and review relevant changes before combining older and newer coating results into one trend.
