Distinguish titanium metal from titanium-coloured decorative finishes before evaluating nano coating appearance, cleaning and compatibility.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Titanium can describe a metal, a colour or a decorative finish name. Those meanings are not interchangeable when selecting a nano coating. Begin with the component’s specification so the treatment is evaluated against the actual outer surface.
Ask whether the object is titanium alloy, anodised titanium, a PVD-coated component or simply a painted titanium colour. Record any clear layer or factory treatment. Do not choose preparation chemistry from the colour name alone.
This guide concerns decorative surfaces. Medical, aerospace, precision mechanical and other specialised components require their own approved processes; a cosmetic cleaning trial is not an approval for those applications.
Photograph the clean surface under diffuse light and directional light. Some decorative finishes change appearance with viewing angle, so use consistent positions when comparing samples. Record what level of colour or gloss change would be unacceptable.
Use a matching sample made with the same finishing process. An uncoated titanium coupon does not represent a coloured decorative layer on stainless steel, even if both products are marketed using the same colour name.
Apply only the permitted cleaning process and inspect the dry result. If preparation changes the finish, stop before adding the coating. Then evaluate the selected treatment’s application, levelling and cured appearance on the approved sample.
Include normal handling-mark removal after the product permits cleaning. Review the dry finish rather than judging it while wet with cleaner or protection product.
Keep the supplier’s finish code, sample photos and approved care instructions with the coating record. If the supplier changes the finishing process, reassess compatibility. Ask NANOLAB for application-specific advice with that information. A useful enquiry names the real surface and the desired outcome; simply requesting a nano coating for titanium leaves too many materially different possibilities unresolved.
For your exact finish and service conditions, ask NANOLAB about coating suitability and consult the current product documentation.
