Preparing a Coated Car for Long-Term Parking
Clean and inspect before storage, reduce avoidable exposure and assess the vehicle carefully before resuming normal washing and use.

Prepare a clean starting point
Wash and dry the vehicle with products compatible with the coating. Remove problematic contamination before parking rather than leaving deposits for an extended period. Inspect seals, drain paths and the intended parking environment.
Avoid unnecessary maintenance layers just because the vehicle will be stored. Use a treatment only where the coating’s instructions or condition justify it.
Consider the storage setting
Choose a suitable location with reduced exposure to sprinklers, tree debris and other repeated contamination where possible. If a cover is used, ensure it is appropriate and clean, and follow its instructions. Coating does not prevent damage from abrasive contact between a dirty cover and paint.
Vehicle storage also involves mechanical and electrical needs outside the coating itself; follow the vehicle’s own guidance for those tasks.
Inspect before the first wash back
Look for settled dust, droppings, moisture marks or other changes. Do not dry-wipe a stored vehicle simply because the dirt appears light. Use a suitable pre-rinse and wash process, then assess the clean finish. Persistent spots or roughness should be diagnosed before aggressive treatment or renewal. Keep any later maintenance in the coating record.
