When Does a Ceramic Coating Need a Booster?
Decide whether a maintenance topper is appropriate by checking cleanliness, compatibility and the reason for the performance change first.

A booster has a defined role
Maintenance products can alter water behaviour, slickness and appearance on compatible coatings. They do not remove scratches, repair failed paint or correct a poorly prepared substrate. Applying one over contamination may improve droplets temporarily while leaving the underlying issue unresolved.
Read the exact product’s intended use and curing instructions. A curing maintenance coating is not necessarily used like a quick wash-day spray.
Diagnose before adding material
Wash, rinse and dry the surface properly. If performance remains different, inspect for road film, mineral deposits or residue from previous products. Choose a compatible treatment for the identified problem rather than repeatedly stacking toppers.

Make maintenance traceable
Record what was applied, where and why. After a topper, water behaviour describes the outermost treated surface, so it cannot independently prove the condition of the underlying coating. Use reapplication when it has a clear purpose and an approved process.
