Protective Coating for Fabric Upholstery
Plan fabric cleaning, drying and product distribution, and understand why water repellency does not make upholstery waterproof.

Check the fabric and treatment
Textiles vary in fibre, weave, colour stability and existing finishes. Use a product intended for the upholstery and test a discreet area for appearance change. Confirm restrictions for adjacent leather, plastics, screens and other surfaces.
Water repellency is a surface behaviour, not proof that liquid can never penetrate. Seams, wear and prolonged exposure can still allow spills to reach the material beneath.
Prepare evenly
Remove loose debris and clean according to the fabric’s care requirements. Allow adequate drying before treatment. Moisture or cleaner residue can affect distribution and make the result harder to assess.
Apply the specified amount with appropriate ventilation and protective equipment. Avoid overspray on controls and sensitive components. Do not saturate fabric simply to force stronger beading.
Use and maintain as instructed
Allow the required cure before sitting on or wetting the upholstery. Remove spills promptly using the approved method rather than leaving liquid to test the coating. Inspect high-wear areas during maintenance and follow the actual reapplication guidance. A fabric coating supports easier care within its limits; it does not eliminate normal cleaning or repair worn upholstery.
