What a Ceramic Coating Maintenance Visit Should Record
Document the starting condition, cleaning performed and findings of a coating maintenance visit so future decisions have a clear reference.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge
A maintenance visit should produce more than a freshly washed vehicle. A short record of the condition and treatment helps distinguish normal contamination from issues requiring repair or a change in the owner’s care routine.
Record the condition before treatment
Identify the coating and covered surfaces. Ask about recent washing, contamination, repairs and products applied since the previous visit. Photograph persistent marks and note panel-to-panel differences.
Confirm any warranty or service requirements from the actual agreement. Do not assume that every NANOLAB product or installation package uses identical service conditions.
List what was actually done
Record the wash products, targeted decontamination and any maintenance coating used. Separate routine cleaning from local polishing or corrective work. If a treatment changes the protection in one area, mark that location clearly.
Inspect after cleaning before deciding on additional protection. A maintenance visit should not automatically become a booster application when the surface first needs diagnosis.
Give the owner a practical next step
Explain the observed condition and any unresolved concerns. Recommend changes tied to actual exposure or technique, such as better rinsing of seams or avoiding dry dusting. Record whether further inspection is needed and why.
Use the maintenance log and renewal assessment. Keep the report concise enough for the owner to use while preserving the product and treatment details needed by the next technician.
