A Coating Demonstration Card: Separate Observation from Sales Interpretation

A demonstration can show one surface under one set of conditions. Recording those conditions prevents a useful visual example from being turned into a broader unsupported performance claim.

Name the demonstrated system

Identify the coating, substrate, preparation and any later maintenance products. Include the age and exposure history when known. A demonstration panel treated with several products should be described as that system.

Describe the action

Record what was applied, how it was removed and what the audience could observe. Keep the method consistent between comparison areas. Avoid describing an unmeasured spray, wipe or exposure as a standard laboratory test.

State the observable result

Use concrete observations such as a visible residue line, a change in water behaviour or the time needed for the demonstrated cleaning step. Separate those observations from explanations that would require additional evidence.

Limit the inference

Explain what the demonstration does and does not establish for a customer’s vehicle. A single successful example cannot determine every environment, surface or maintenance routine. Keep the card with the demonstration setup so that another presenter uses the same scope.

Frequently asked question

Does an impressive water demonstration establish long-term durability?

It shows water behaviour under the demonstrated conditions. A durability claim needs an appropriate exposure period and evidence addressing that claim.
