Storing Clean Detailing Towels Between Washes and Jobs

Laundering a towel is only part of keeping it ready for paintwork. A clean towel left beside polishing dust or an open dressing bottle can become unsuitable before it reaches the vehicle. Storage should protect the towel’s condition and preserve a clear separation between tasks.

Store only towels ready for storage

Follow the towel’s care instructions and ensure it is appropriately dry before closing it into a container. Inspect for embedded debris, damaged edges or residue that laundering has not resolved. Do not mix a questionable towel into a clean stack merely because it has completed a wash cycle.

Separate by task and status

Give drying, glass, interior, wheel and coating-related towels distinct locations as appropriate to the workshop. Keep clean, in-use and awaiting-laundry towels physically separate. Protect the clean supply at the workstation

Keep storage away from activities that create spray or polishing debris. If a clean towel falls onto a dirty surface, change its status immediately rather than relying on a quick shake.

Review the system after each job
