Planning Ceramic Coating Care Across a Vehicle Fleet

Coordinate washing, inspection and service records across coated fleet vehicles without assuming that every vehicle has the same use or finish.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A coated fleet needs a repeatable care process that different drivers and wash teams can follow. The challenge is consistency across vehicles with different mileage, parking and surface histories. Begin with a vehicle register and a practical wash process rather than a single blanket maintenance promise.

Record the protection on each vehicle

Identify the coating, installation date, treated surfaces and applicable care instructions. Note film, wraps, repairs and surfaces requiring separate treatment. A fleet vehicle’s appearance can change over time, so update the record after bodywork or replacement panels.

Use the mixed-surface map to avoid treating the entire vehicle as one material. The wash team needs to know where film edges, matte finishes or other special requirements apply.

Standardise the routine that matters

Choose a documented wash and drying process compatible with the installed products. Keep wheel tools separate, remove loose grit before contact and prevent cleaning products from drying on unsuitable surfaces. Provide the instructions where the work takes place, not only in a central office folder.

The wash-service instructions guide can help translate product care into a short operational brief.

Base inspections on use and observations

High-use vehicles may accumulate contamination differently from vehicles parked indoors. Record the condition and exposures rather than assuming identical wear. Use inspections to decide whether routine cleaning, targeted maintenance or a professional assessment is needed.

Do not infer coating failure from one photograph of poor beading. Review recent washing and any additional products before deciding on renewal.

Keep responsibility clear

Assign a person to maintain the records and a route for reporting damage or unusual contamination. Drivers should know when to report a concern rather than attempting an improvised repair. Wash teams should know which changes require approval.

Connect the fleet record to the maintenance visit checklist. For a proposed NANOLAB coating programme, discuss product suitability and support through NANOLAB before applying one process across vehicles with different finishes and operating conditions.
