Bulk Ceramic Coating: Calculate Recoverable Volume Before Filling

Purchased litres and saleable litres are different quantities. Material left in the supply container, transfer path and filling equipment reduces the amount available for finished bottles.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Practical approach

Reconcile source-container withdrawals with accepted filled volume, samples and measured transfer residues. Weigh source and receiving containers using a suitable scale; convert mass only with the applicable product density.

Illustrative planning: 5 litres less 0.15 litres of measured transfer loss leaves 4.85 litres, enough for 97 nominal 50 ml fills before other allowances.

Decision limits

Do not increase nominal bottle yield by ignoring losses or reducing the declared fill. Ask the supplier about the approved transfer method before specifying equipment.
