Checking Preparation Towels Before Ceramic Coating
Inspect preparation towels for embedded grit, previous product and laundry residue before they touch paint ready for ceramic coating.

A freshly laundered towel is not automatically ready for final panel preparation. Its previous use, detergent rinsing and storage can all affect the clean surface. The final wipe deserves tools with a known history.
Separate towels by previous use
Keep final-preparation towels distinct from wheel, dressing and coating-removal cloths. Inspect for hardened residue, embedded particles and damaged edges. Do not use a cloth carrying uncertain cured coating residue on sensitive paint.
Store clean towels in a protected location and handle them with clean hands or suitable gloves. Avoid placing them on the vehicle’s tyres, seats or a dusty workbench while preparing products.
Check for inconsistent wiping
If a towel smears or leaves fibres unexpectedly, stop and inspect it and the preparation product. Compare with a known clean suitable towel on an approved area. Do not compensate for poor wiping by adding pressure.
Review laundering if multiple towels show the same problem. Follow the textile and cleaning-product instructions and ensure thorough rinsing and appropriate drying.
Prepare enough clean replacements
Estimate the number of towels needed for the vehicle and keep used ones physically separated. Replace a towel as it becomes loaded rather than trying to complete the whole vehicle with one cloth.
