Scratch-Removal Percentages: Define the Denominator Before Quoting

A claim such as 90 percent correction is ambiguous unless the workshop explains which marks were counted and how the finish was inspected.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Choose an observable definition

Separate wash marring, isolated deep scratches, texture and paint-system defects. Counting these as one population can make a percentage meaningless. Describe the types and areas you intend to improve, including the marks that should remain to preserve the finish.

Keep the inspection comparable

Record lighting, surface cleanliness and the inspected area before and after the service. Do not compare a dusty intake panel with an oil-rich finished patch under a different lamp. A persuasive photograph is not a reproducible count.

Quote a supported outcome

When a numerical method is unavailable, use a clear condition-based description. For example, define a reduction in visible wash marring under specified inspection, with deep marks assessed individually. Link the service to a test-area result and explain why preservation can take priority over a perfect-looking number.

Frequently asked question

Is an estimated correction percentage a guarantee?

It should not be presented as one unless a clear measurement and acceptance method genuinely support it.
