Ceramic Coating Care in Winter: Why Rain Is Not a Wash
Manage road film, wet conditions and seasonal contamination with a suitable wash routine and proper drying whenever conditions allow.

Rain can leave contamination behind
Rain may move loose dirt, but it does not reliably remove traffic film, oily residue or deposits on lower panels. In areas using road salt, the vehicle may also face a different contamination load. Choose cleaning products and methods suitable for the actual exposure.
Do not judge cleanliness only by whether the car appears wet and shiny. Inspect once it has been washed and dried.
Choose workable conditions
Follow the temperature requirements of the products and equipment. Avoid washing where water can freeze or create unsafe conditions. Remove abrasive dirt before contact washing and keep wheel tools separate from paint tools.
Rinse thoroughly and dry where practical, paying attention to seams and retained water. Wet weather does not make detergent residue harmless.
Adjust the care plan
Increase attention to heavily exposed lower areas and inspect the coating after cleaning. A reduction in beading may reflect contamination rather than complete coating failure. For fresh applications, arrange a suitable curing location and follow the specific release and wash schedule. Seasonal care should respond to the vehicle’s conditions rather than relying on a fixed summer-versus-winter rule for every formula.
