Drop Volume in Coating Demonstrations: Make the Comparison Reproducible

Different water-drop sizes can make a demonstration look more dramatic. Keep dispensing and viewing conditions consistent before comparing surface behaviour.

Specify the observation

Decide whether you are showing static drop shape, movement or runoff. Use a suitable repeatable dispensing method and record the panel orientation. A hose spray and a small dispensed drop answer different visual questions.

Control the presentation

Use clean surfaces with documented maintenance histories. Keep camera angle, lighting and scale consistent, and avoid selecting only the most attractive drop from each product. Repeat the observation at representative locations rather than relying on one patch.

Limit the conclusion

A useful demonstration shows behaviour under its recorded conditions. It does not prove every protection claim or remaining service life. Include the surface, product system and maintenance stage so viewers know what they are seeing.

Frequently asked question

Can one tiny round droplet prove superior coating durability?

No. It is a limited observation, and durability needs an appropriate exposure and assessment plan.
