Coating Test Liquids: Record Purity and Handling

The liquid used in a wetting test is part of the test system. Contaminated water or reused dispensing equipment can undermine a comparison.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Practical approach

Use the specified liquid quality and clean, suitable equipment. Record preparation and handling where relevant to the method.

Water taken from a workshop bottle previously used for a cleaning solution is not an appropriate unexplained substitute for the test liquid.

Decision limits

Do not assume that clear appearance establishes purity. Resolve the liquid and equipment requirements before collecting reportable measurements.
