Coating Sample Storage Before Testing: Record the Waiting Period

The interval and conditions between preparation and testing are part of the specimen history. Unrecorded waiting periods can complicate comparisons.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Practical approach

Follow the method's conditioning requirements and record application, conditioning and test-start times. Keep the groups on a comparable schedule.

One sample tested shortly after preparation and another after extended storage may not represent an equivalent starting condition.

Decision limits

Do not use a convenient calendar date as a substitute for the required conditioning state. Resolve timing deviations before interpreting results.
