A laboratory cannot design a useful comparison from a request to test durability alone. The endpoint must describe the change that matters.

Practical approach
Specify whether the concern is appearance, adhesion, cleaning, corrosion or another measurable outcome. Agree the method and reporting limits before sending samples.
A test ending when colour changes answers a different question from one ending when adhesion falls below a specified criterion.
Decision limits
Do not combine these endpoints into an unexplained lifespan claim. Keep the conclusion tied to the property actually evaluated.
