Ceramic Coating Job Estimates: Separate Labour from Cure Time

Build a clearer job estimate by separating active work, bay occupancy and the coating's required curing period.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A ceramic coating booking occupies time in more than one way. Active labour, equipment use and protected curing space are different resources. Separating them makes a workshop estimate easier to plan and explain without changing the product’s technical requirements.

Break the job into stages

List inspection, washing, decontamination, any agreed correction, final preparation, application and final inspection. Estimate labour for the actual condition and scope rather than only the vehicle’s size. Keep optional repair or extra correction outside the base estimate until assessed.

Record curing and protected parking as separate schedule items. A period requiring no continuous technician attention may still occupy valuable space. Conversely, two staff working for one hour represent two labour-hours even when only one hour passes on the clock.

Use a simple worked example

Suppose a hypothetical job uses four hours of active preparation, two hours of application and inspection, and a separate product-specific waiting period. The active-work total is six hours; the elapsed booking length may be longer. These example numbers are planning arithmetic, not application instructions or NANOLAB timing claims.

Track actual times after comparable jobs and revise estimates from those records. Do not reduce a required curing interval to make the spreadsheet fit an attractive collection time.

Explain what the customer is buying

Describe the accepted paint condition, treated surfaces and maintenance handover. A clear scope supports fair comparison between quotes that may include very different preparation work.

For businesses developing their own product range, NANOLAB Private Label and OEM can be part of the supply discussion. Keep product cost, labour and operational capacity distinct when assessing how a coating system fits the workshop.
