Bulk Coating Quotes: Identify Which Packaging Components Are Customer-Supplied

A quotation should identify customer-supplied components explicitly. Otherwise, a low filling price may be mistaken for a complete finished-pack price even though bottles, closures or labels remain the buyer's responsibility.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

The key distinction

The cost comparison should include those components and the work needed to approve and deliver them. Supply responsibility also affects readiness: a confirmed filling slot may depend on acceptable components arriving on time.

Practical checks

  1. Mark each component as supplier-provided or customer-provided.
  2. Include its cost and approval dependency in the project model.
  3. Confirm the receiving requirements with the packer.

Example

Illustrative example: one offer includes bottles and labels while another covers filling only. Comparing the headline unit prices without the missing components would not compare equivalent deliverables.

Scope and limits

Do not assume customer-supplied packaging is automatically acceptable. The product and packer requirements still govern compatibility, dimensions and the approved finished configuration.
