Container size affects opening frequency, transfer losses and handling convenience as well as unit price. The lowest price per litre may not give the lowest usable cost.

Estimate consumption between openings and the number of transfers. Compare measured losses, approved opened-container life, handling requirements and the supplier's available pack options.
A low-volume workshop may open one large supply container repeatedly for small jobs. Several smaller original containers could reduce repeated exposure, even if their purchase cost is higher.
Do not assume that smaller packs always preserve material better. Use product-specific storage instructions and actual consumption records rather than a universal container-size rule.
