Planning Where a Vehicle Will Park While a Coating Cures

Coating work does not end when the final panel has been levelled. The vehicle still needs a practical parking and release plan that respects the product’s cure instructions. Discuss this before application, especially when the customer has no covered parking or the workshop needs the bay for another job.

Separate installation space from cure space

Identify where the vehicle will remain after inspection and whether it can be moved under the applicable instructions. Consider contamination, water exposure and access by staff or customers. A storage space may be covered yet still unsuitable if nearby work creates overspray or heavy dust.

Use the coating work schedule to reserve the required space. Do not count a job as operationally complete while its release conditions still occupy a workshop resource.

Follow the exact cure requirements

Read the instructions for the product and system installed, including any requirements associated with multiple layers or maintenance products. Avoid replacing them with a generic number of hours taken from another coating.

Plan for the customer’s destination
