A QR code can make supporting coating instructions easier to find, but only if it leads to the right information. A generic homepage or a changing promotional page creates extra work for someone standing beside a prepared vehicle. Plan the destination as part of the product’s support system.

Use a stable product-specific destination

Choose a page that clearly identifies the product, intended surfaces and applicable document version. Keep the address stable when the page design changes. The destination should help the user confirm that the guidance matches the bottle in hand.

If several versions are in circulation, provide a clear way to select the relevant one using the batch or document reference. Do not silently replace instructions for older stock with a method that applies only to a revised formula.

Keep essential information accessible without scanning

The physical pack still needs clear product identification and the information required for the intended market. Do not assume every user has a phone, connectivity or permission to use a device in the workplace. A QR code is a useful supplement, not an automatic substitute for required labels or inserts.

Review the pack with the label readability checklist. Include a human-readable route to support where practical.

Test the actual printed code

Scan a proof at its final size and position on the bottle or box. Check curvature, contrast, glare and damage-prone locations. Test more than one ordinary phone under normal lighting. A code that works on a computer screen may fail on a small glossy label.

Open the destination on a phone and locate the application instructions without searching. Ensure that downloads have descriptive names and that the page does not require unnecessary account creation merely to read basic product guidance.

Assign ownership of the destination

Record who maintains the page, reviews changes and checks that the link still works. Connect updates to formula change control and translated-document reviews.
