Quotation Scope for a Coating Project: Separate Product, Training and Quality Support

Separate product supply, training, application support and quality verification in a coating quotation so the customer can compare scope accurately.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Two coating quotations can show the same bottle quantity while offering very different services. A clear scope separates the supplied product from training, application work and verification.

List the deliverables

Item Specify
Product Identity, pack size and quantity
Training Audience, format and duration
Application support Remote or site assistance and boundaries
Quality review Inspection method and report
Care handover Documents and maintenance briefing

State assumptions

Identify substrate condition, access, preparation responsibility and required schedule. If the quotation assumes a clean, accepted surface, explain how additional corrective preparation would be handled. Avoid hiding material exclusions in an ambiguous phrase such as “standard installation.”

Separate quantities from performance promises

Coverage estimates should identify the relevant method and assumptions. A supplied quantity does not by itself guarantee that every square metre will meet an agreed finish if the substrate or application conditions differ.

Compare offers on a common basis

For example, a lower product-only price may exclude the training included in another offer. Show optional services separately and define who accepts the completed work. Have the appropriate commercial reviewer check binding terms. The resulting quotation should let the customer understand what will be delivered, what they must provide and how changes to the project will be addressed.

Discuss your private-label coating project. For application and care, use the current instructions for the exact product.
