Write a coating case study that distinguishes measured results, customer observations and unresolved explanations, with clear before-and-after conditions.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A useful coating case study explains what was done and what was observed. It should not turn a customer’s enthusiasm or an attractive photograph into a measurement that never occurred.
Describe the surface, previous treatment, contamination and agreed goal. Record preparation separately from coating. If polishing created the major visible improvement, the case study should not attribute all of that change to the protective product.
| Type | How to present it |
|---|---|
| Measured result | Method, units, samples and conditions |
| Observed result | Who observed what and when |
| Proposed explanation | Clearly identified interpretation or hypothesis |
Keep lighting, angle, surface wetness and camera treatment consistent where possible. Retain originals and disclose meaningful differences. A wet after-image and a dry before-image do not establish the same thing as a controlled dry comparison.
Name the product and relevant surface, summarise preparation and application, and state the observation period. Include maintenance products added later. Protect customer privacy and obtain the necessary permission for identifiable customer material before publication.
Instead of “the coating eliminated cleaning,” report that the owner described easier routine cleaning during the stated follow-up period, if that is the available evidence. If cleaning time was measured, provide the actual method and result rather than substituting a stronger unmeasured claim.
One installation does not represent every substrate or climate. An unfinished observation period is not a completed durability test. A positive case can remain compelling while acknowledging those boundaries.
End with the practical lesson: why the product and workflow suited the job, what preparation mattered and what care remains necessary. The case study then becomes useful to the next customer rather than merely a promotional story.
Ask NANOLAB about your surface and intended use. For application and care, use the current instructions for the exact product.
