A stainless steel sample board can help cleaning staff practise a coating-compatible routine before working across a large installation. The board should represent the actual finish and treatment, not simply be any shiny metal sheet. Use it to teach a process and an inspection standard rather than to stage an exaggerated product demonstration.
Obtain a sample matching the installed stainless finish, including any factory layer. Apply the specified coating only if the substrate is approved, following the documented preparation and cure. Label the reverse with product identity, date and treatment boundary so the working face stays clear.
Provide the same cleaner, cloth type and instructions that staff will use on site. Demonstrate controlled product application, the approved wiping method and complete residue removal. Include a clean reference area for comparison under the building's typical lighting.
Use benign, representative handling marks rather than applying hazardous chemicals or deliberately damaging the board. Training should improve everyday judgment, not create a chemical-resistance claim that the sample cannot support.
Ask each operator to complete the routine and explain when they would stop and report a problem. Observe product quantity, cloth changes and contact with adjacent materials. Correct unclear steps in the written procedure rather than relying on memory of the demonstration.
Keep the board clean and identify any wear from repeated training. A heavily altered sample may no longer represent the installation. Review the process when cleaners, cloths or coatings change. The board's main value is a shared, visible standard for acceptable cleaning and escalation, not proof of lifetime performance across every stainless surface in the building.
