Mechanical servicing brings tools, protective covers, fluids and frequent hand contact close to a wrapped vehicle. Tell the workshop about the wrap and any coating before the appointment so protection can be planned around the actual materials. A generic fender cover is useful only when its contact surfaces are clean and suitable.
Identify wrapped panels, recently installed sections and any relevant curing restrictions. Provide concise care instructions from the film supplier. Photograph existing marks near the engine bay, doors and other likely work areas, using normal lighting rather than relying on memory afterward.
Ask the workshop to use appropriate clean protection and to avoid placing tools directly on the bodywork. Any attachment method should be compatible with the wrap. Adhesive tapes, magnetic accessories and solvents should not be assumed suitable without checking their instructions.
If body trim must be removed, flag film that crosses a joint or surrounds the component. This gives the technician an opportunity to coordinate with the installer before disturbing the material.
After service, check the relevant areas while the work is still easy to discuss. Record new residue, lifted edges or marks without immediately polishing or applying a topper. Ask which fluids or cleaning products contacted the surface if an issue is visible.
Use the approved cleanup procedure for known contamination, and refer uncertain staining or film damage to the installer. Avoid assigning cause solely from timing, but preserve the evidence needed for a fair assessment. A brief condition record and clear material instructions usually provide more useful protection than assuming the coating makes the wrap resistant to every workshop exposure.
