Protecting Adjacent Materials During Nano Coating

A preparation product that suits the target surface may be unsuitable for the material beside it. Edges, joints and nearby finishes deserve attention before cleaning or application begins.

Map the boundaries

Identify glass, metal, stone, paint, plastic and sealant around the work area. Check their care instructions where available. Include the route that rinse water or residue could take, especially on vertical surfaces above delicate trim or countertops.

Select suitable protection

Use the installer’s approved masking or protection method and confirm it will not damage the adjacent finish. Avoid assuming all tapes are safe on every surface. Keep tools and containers positioned so they cannot spill or transfer residue onto untreated areas.

Inspect before and after removal

Check the boundaries during the work and remove protection at the appropriate stage. Look for adhesive residue, splashes or an abrupt finish change. Address any finding using a compatible method rather than spreading a strong cleaner across several materials. Record exclusions in the handover so future touch-up work respects the same boundaries.
