Drying a tall SUV should start with an access plan, not a longer reach. Leaning a belt, jacket zip or loaded sleeve against a clean door can undo careful washing while the operator concentrates on the roof.
Use stable access equipment appropriate to the location and task. Work from positions where the towel can be controlled without stretching across large areas. Keep steps, footwear and the ground beneath them clean enough for safe use. Do not use a wheel or an improvised container as a platform.
Finish high surfaces before lower panels so later runoff is easier to catch. Use manageable towel sections and refold them before they become saturated. A towel trailing down the opposite side of the car can touch dirty trim or the ground without the operator noticing.
Remove or secure items that may contact the paint, including lanyards and loose straps. Position hoses and blower leads so they do not sweep across finished panels. If two people are drying, agree on who is moving around which side and where clean tools will be placed.
When access remains poor, adjust the equipment or service scope rather than pushing harder or leaning farther. A drying blower, where suitable, changes the method but does not eliminate the need to control equipment and check trapped water.
Inspect the roof edges, mirror bases and rear trim after the main dry. Revisit clean runoff with a clean towel; wash any area that receives dirty runoff before wiping it.
The useful result is a dry vehicle achieved through controlled contact. It is not the fastest apparent pass with the largest towel. Ceramic coating can make parts of drying easier, but safe reach and clean equipment remain the operator's responsibility.
