Bulk Coating Pump Selection: Review Every Wetted Component

A pump's headline body material does not describe every part that contacts the liquid. Review the full wetted-material list before asking a supplier to approve it for bulk ceramic coating transfer.

The key distinction

Seals, valves, tubing and other contact components can differ from the pump housing. The technical review needs the actual model and configuration, including any optional parts, rather than a broad statement that the pump is stainless or chemical resistant.

Practical checks

  1. Obtain the complete equipment specification.
  2. Identify all liquid-contact components.
  3. Confirm suitability and the approved operating method with the responsible parties.

Example

Illustrative example: two pumps share the same housing description but use different internal seals. An approval for one configuration should not be assumed to cover the other.

Scope and limits

This guide does not recommend a pump or operating setting. Follow the exact product safety and handling instructions and the equipment manufacturer's requirements.
