Coating Support Closure: Confirm the Customer Understands the Next Care Step

A technically correct response may still leave the customer unsure what to do next. Before closing a support case, make the approved next step and any remaining limitation clear.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

The key distinction

Closure should reflect the agreed outcome, which may be an explanation, a permitted care process or referral for inspection. It should not imply that the surface has been physically corrected when the team has only supplied advice.

Practical checks

  1. State the outcome in plain language.
  2. Identify the next action and responsible party.
  3. Record any follow-up needed to assess the result.

Example

Illustrative example: support provides an approved maintenance instruction, but the customer has not yet carried it out. The record should distinguish advice delivered from a confirmed resolved surface condition.

Scope and limits

Do not claim successful correction without evidence. A clear closure status preserves the customer experience and prevents support statistics from overstating what has actually been achieved.
