From cutting and one-step correction to final finishing.
Shared seating needs a maintenance owner, not just an installation record. When several teams clean the same upholstery, a protective treatment can be difficult to evaluate unless everyone follows the same current care instructions.

Map the people and contractors who may touch the surface during normal operations. Include routine cleaners, event staff and occasional specialist services. The aim is not to prevent appropriate cleaning; it is to keep product changes and unusual incidents visible so an appearance complaint can be understood and the approved care route remains accessible.
Illustrative example: a reception sofa is maintained by a daytime team and a separate weekend contractor. One uses an additional treatment that is absent from the care record. A later difference in appearance cannot fairly be attributed to the original protection without considering that intervention.
Do not claim that a maintenance log guarantees performance. It provides context for decisions and support. The treatment must be suitable for the upholstery and use, and any hygiene or disinfection requirements must remain governed by the appropriate product and facility instructions.
