Practical approach
Identify the substrate lot, cleaning sequence, abrasive treatment where applicable and preparation date. Allocate comparable coupons across the groups.
If one product is applied to freshly prepared coupons and another to older stored coupons, the comparison contains more than a formulation difference.
Decision limits
Do not assume identical-looking coupons have identical preparation histories. Preserve the evidence needed to interpret the outcome.
