Wholesale Ceramic Coating: Distinguish Reserved Stock from Available Stock

A warehouse quantity can include units already promised to customers. Purchasing decisions based only on physical stock may create a stockout for the next confirmed order.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Practical approach

Track physical units, committed units, quarantined units and usable incoming orders separately. Calculate immediately available stock after commitments and holds, using the same SKU and pack size.

If 120 bottles are on the shelf, 70 are reserved and 10 are held for inspection, only 40 are currently available for a new uncommitted order.

Decision limits

Do not include an expected shipment as immediately available. Confirm its arrival and acceptance before promising dispatch based on that stock.
