Act promptly, avoid scraping
Bird droppings can contain material that stains or etches finishes. A coating does not guarantee unlimited resistance. Move the vehicle to suitable conditions and use a compatible softening and cleaning method rather than rubbing dry contamination across the paint.
Use clean, soft materials and lift loosened contamination carefully. Do not reuse the same dirty towel face for surrounding areas.
Consider whether the coating is fresh
If the installation is still within its early cure period, contact the installer for a suitable response. Waiting for the first routine wash does not mean all contamination should remain untouched until then. Equally, a strong cleaner chosen without checking compatibility can create a second problem.
Follow the cleaner’s directions and rinse or remove residue as specified. Avoid improvised chemical mixtures.
Inspect the clean area
A remaining outline may be deposited residue or damage already present in the finish. Do not keep increasing pressure to remove an etched mark. Photograph the area and have persistent defects assessed before abrasive correction. Change parking arrangements where repeated exposure occurs and keep appropriate cleaning supplies available for travel. Prompt, controlled care is more useful than testing how long the coating can tolerate contamination.
