Why a Ceramic Coating Test Spot Matters
Use a small test area to verify compatibility, finish change and levelling before applying a coating across the vehicle.

Test the actual combination
The relevant combination is the coating, prepared surface, applicator, towels and current conditions. A previous installation on another vehicle cannot verify all of these. Repaired paint, older film and matte finishes deserve particular attention.
Choose an appropriate discreet area that represents the surface you intend to treat. Follow the product instructions and check whether testing or application requires an authorised installer.
Observe more than spreading
Assess whether the material distributes evenly, how residue responds during levelling and whether the finish changes as intended. Look for darkening, unwanted gloss, streaks or persistent haze. View the area with both diffuse and focused light.
On matte or satin material, the objective is often preservation of the existing sheen. A product that enhances gloss can be unsuitable even when it wipes away easily.
Use the result to decide
If the area behaves as expected, continue with a manageable workflow and repeat checks if conditions change. If residue is difficult to remove or the appearance is wrong, stop and resolve the cause with NANOLAB. Do not expand a failed test across another panel. The small amount of time used for this check can prevent a much larger correction and recoating task.
