Compare actual care effort and observations with the original project assumptions.

The first maintenance cycle is a useful point to review a coating project. It reveals whether the handover was understood and whether the original operating assumptions matched real use. The review should compare documented observations rather than rely on general impressions.
Use the original surface record, product identity and project purpose. Identify what the client hoped to improve and what evidence was planned. Do not introduce a new success measure after seeing the result simply because it makes the project look better.
Ask who performed maintenance, which products and methods were used and what condition was observed before and after the task. Note access or training difficulties. For example, a housekeeping team may have followed a different routine from the one discussed at handover; that needs clarification before drawing conclusions about the coating.
The outcome may be clearer instructions, a revised service scope, a technical enquiry or continuation of the current routine. Keep unresolved causes open rather than assigning blame prematurely. Record the decision and who will implement it. A first-cycle review does not establish every long-term performance claim, but it can make the maintenance process more reliable and ensure that the client and installer are still working from the same understanding of the project.
Compare cleaning method, time, observed appearance and issues with the pre-project record where one exists. Note differences in use or contamination that make the comparison less direct. Ask the people doing the cleaning what was difficult or unclear.
Do not treat one favourable cycle as proof of long-term savings or durability. Use it to identify immediate workflow adjustments and questions for further observation. If the maintenance instructions were not followed or were misunderstood, record that fact without jumping to blame. The review should produce a specific next step: continue the agreed routine, clarify the handover, investigate an observation or revise the evaluation plan.
