Design a Coating Customer Handover That People Will Read

Prioritize immediate care, product identity and the support route in a concise handover.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A customer handover should make the first care decisions easy to understand. Long technical paragraphs are unlikely to be remembered at collection. Prioritize the instructions that apply to the exact installed product and provide a clear route back to the workshop.

Lead with immediate actions

Explain product-specific restrictions and care requirements using the current instructions. State any relevant dates or times clearly rather than expecting the customer to calculate them from a general statement. Do not transfer timing from another coating or offer a universal first-wash rule.

Identify the installed treatment

Provide the product name and a concise description of treated areas. Include exclusions or areas with a different surface history when relevant. For example, the owner should know if paint and film zones were handled under different approved scopes rather than assuming one process covered every component.

Give the customer a usable reference

Provide a short written summary, current document access and contact details for questions. Explain what information helps if a later issue appears: product identity, timing, recent cleaning and photographs where useful. Keep maintenance advice distinct from warranty terms and link to the actual applicable programme information. A strong handover is not the largest booklet; it is the one that helps the customer follow the correct routine and ask for help before improvising an uncertain treatment.

A handover card in reading order

Start with the installed product and treatment date. Next show the product-specific restrictions that apply immediately after collection, then the normal cleaning route and the contact for a problem. Keep the exact timing linked to current instructions rather than copying generic figures.

Add a simple prompt: if an unexpected mark appears, photograph it and contact the installer before trying an unfamiliar treatment. Avoid burying essential instructions beneath promotional text. Ask the customer to explain the first care step back in their own words. That reveals confusing wording while the installer can still clarify it. A short usable card with access to complete guidance is more effective than a dense leaflet the customer cannot navigate.
