A full polishing range.
From cutting and one-step correction to final finishing.
Track the type and context of rework so training and process changes target the actual cause.

A workshop rework register should help the team learn, not assign blame before the facts are known. Record what had to be repeated, the context and the resulting action. Without those distinctions, every issue can end up labelled coating problem regardless of its actual origin.
Identify the job, surface zone, product and stage when the issue was noticed. Record the visible observation separately from the suspected cause. State what work was repeated and who reviewed the decision. Include the instruction revision where it is relevant to the investigation.
Group cases by task and context, not only by product name. For example, repeated uncertainty at technician handovers may point toward incomplete job records rather than a formulation issue. Avoid drawing conclusions from a small number of unrelated cases without examining their differences.
Assign a practical action such as a clearer readiness check, training exercise or manufacturer enquiry. Review whether that action changed later outcomes. Track rework effort consistently if it is being used for business decisions, and distinguish estimates from measured time. A useful register stays short enough for staff to complete and detailed enough for another person to understand. Its purpose is to improve the process using evidence, while preserving uncertainty where the cause has not been established.
Use fields for job identifier, affected zone, observation, stage detected, suspected factors, corrective action and outcome. Keep suspected factors separate from confirmed causes. A streak found at collection does not by itself prove which earlier step produced it.
Review patterns across comparable jobs and products before changing a workshop procedure. If several issues occur after a change in towel handling, investigate that connection without treating timing alone as proof. Record whether the corrective action actually resolved the observation. The register should help improve the process, not assign blame to the last person who touched the vehicle. A useful entry remains understandable months later to someone who was not present.
