Assess the starting condition

Inspect a vertical panel from several angles before the test. Note whether marks become visible only when standing or crouching. A comfortable machine position may hide haze that the customer sees at normal viewing height.

A practical working method

  1. Record the initial defects from a repeatable inspection position.
  2. Use the stool for controlled working access without letting it define acceptance.
  3. Remove residue and inspect from the original position and another relevant angle.
  4. Compare the treated area with a nearby untouched reference.

Common mistake

Accepting every panel from the operator’s seated viewpoint can leave inconsistent results across the car. Moving the light without documenting the change also makes comparisons less useful.

What a useful result looks like

The finish should meet the agreed standard across realistic viewing positions. Keep light, distance and cleaning consistent when comparing test areas; a seat-height change is a reason to adjust observation, not automatically to repeat correction.
