Inspect beyond the broad panels
Look for streaks, dark patches, haze and excess product under different lighting angles. Pay attention to mirror bases, door handles, badges, trim transitions and curved bumper sections. These areas can hold residue that is less obvious in a quick walkaround.
Check the work against the planned surface map. Verify that gloss-enhancing products did not reach areas intended to remain matte and that untreated components remain clean.
Confirm any correction
If residue was corrected during the job, revisit that area after the approved recovery process. Ensure the appearance is consistent and record any local reapplication. Do not assume an early wipe resolved a patch without another inspection.
Avoid unnecessary touching or water demonstrations on a coating still in early cure. The inspection should respect the same product requirements as the application.
Complete the handover record
List the products, treated surfaces, application date, first-wash date and maintenance instructions. Record any agreed defects that remain in the substrate. Explain the response to early contamination and provide a clear contact route for questions. An inspected finish and understandable aftercare reduce avoidable problems after the vehicle leaves the workshop.
