Printed Labels on Metal Before Nano Coating: Keep the Label Surface Separate

A printed label on a metal panel introduces another exposed finish and an attachment boundary. Define its role before applying a coating across the whole component.

Identify the label and function

Record whether the item carries instructions, identification or decorative artwork. Use the component and label supplier information where available. A label’s location on metal does not mean it shares the metal’s preparation or coating requirements.

Confirm the intended contact

Review the proposed coating, cleaner and application method for the actual label system. Do not assume that a clear treatment will leave ink, film and attachment unchanged. Keep functional markings readable and within their supplied requirements.

Define an approved boundary

Specify excluded labels or an approved separate method before work. Use protection appropriate to the finishes and process where required. Avoid removing important information simply to increase the nominal coated area.

Inspect at handover

Review the metal finish and label appearance separately. Record treated and excluded areas with the care plan. A successful metal sample does not establish the suitability of the same process over every printed item.

Frequently asked question

Does coating the metal approve coating its attached labels?

No. Confirm the label system and function separately and retain an explicit application boundary.
