Polishing Door Jamb Paint: Agree the Cosmetic Scope and Access

Door jambs combine painted surfaces, seals, labels and hardware. Define what can be inspected and polished without interfering with those components.

Identify the area and finish

Record the exact jamb surfaces in scope and their condition. Distinguish paint from plastics, seals and supplied labels. Hidden areas may have a different finish quality or repair history from the external door skin.

Protect information and hardware

Keep vehicle labels and functional components outside an improvised polishing process. Follow the vehicle guidance for any access or movement. Do not remove items simply because doing so would make machine correction easier.

Use a controlled method

Choose a process appropriate to the actual paint and available space. Check tool clearance and contact before using a machine. Where access is unsuitable, agree a limited hand process or an exclusion rather than forcing a pad into the recess.

Inspect and explain the result

Remove residue using an appropriate method and check accessible seams. Record retained marks and untreated areas in the handover. A cosmetic jamb service should not be represented as correction of every concealed painted surface.

Frequently asked question

Can the exterior polishing package automatically include all door jambs?

Specify the jamb scope separately. Their access, components and finish history may require a different working method or acceptance level.
