Two Polish Trials, Different Panel Wipes: Keep the Inspection Method Comparable

A product comparison is weakened when each polished area receives a different residue-removal method. Record the inspection process alongside the compound and pad.

Define what is being compared

Decide whether the trial concerns cutting, finish, wipe-off or a complete workflow. A whole-system comparison may intentionally include different approved cleaners; a comparison of polishing liquids needs those differences stated rather than hidden.

Confirm compatibility first

Use inspection products suitable for the paint and relevant polish systems. Do not force one cleaner onto every formula merely to make the test look uniform. Where approved methods differ, explain that limitation in the comparison design.

Control the removal sequence

Record the cleaner, towel condition, amount and working sequence. Compare the same dry inspection stage under the same lighting. Changing the inspection method after seeing the first result introduces another variable that can affect interpretation.

Report the actual finding

Keep the observed finish and the inspection procedure together. State whether the result applies to the liquids alone or to their complete approved workflows. Repeat an unclear comparison with an agreed method before using it to support a purchasing or service claim.

Frequently asked question

Must a polish comparison use one universal panel wipe?

No. Compatibility takes priority. Use appropriate approved methods and disclose differences that limit a direct comparison.
