Calculate a private label coating order’s contribution after product, packaging, fulfilment and support costs using a clearly defined sales channel.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A low factory price does not by itself make a private label ceramic coating profitable. The more useful first calculation is the contribution left from a typical order after the costs that arise because that order was sold. Build the calculation separately for wholesale, online retail and workshop use.
Use the amount retained from the customer after any discount, excluding taxes collected for the relevant authority. List the number of bottles and accessories included. Do not compare a one-bottle online order with a distributor carton as if their fulfilment costs were identical.
Subtract the landed product cost allocated to that order, packaging, transaction fees, picking and packing, shipping subsidy and a realistic allowance for variable support or replacements. Avoid counting a cost twice if it is already included in the supplier’s price.
Consider a hypothetical order with 100 currency units of net revenue. If product and kit components cost 34, fulfilment and fees cost 16, and variable support allowance is 5, the contribution is 45 units. These are illustrative assumptions, not NANOLAB prices or a forecast.
The 45 units still need to cover fixed overhead and any acquisition cost not already counted. Calling the entire difference between retail price and bottle cost profit would hide those obligations.
Recalculate with a lower average selling price, a larger shipping subsidy and slower repeat purchasing. For online sales, include the cost of acquiring the order using your actual channel data when available. For wholesale, account for case quantities and the support promised to the distributor.
Record the source and date of every cost estimate. Replace assumptions with observed figures as orders begin.
A weak contribution may call for a different bundle, shipping policy, pack size or channel strategy. It does not automatically mean the chemistry should be made cheaper. Request a NANOLAB quotation with a defined product, packaging and supply format, then use the quoted scope as one input to the complete order calculation.
