Plan a nano coating trial for decorative chrome furniture, separating visible surfaces from moving parts, upholstery and functional contact areas.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Decorative chrome appears on chair frames, table bases, display stands and interior fixtures. These surfaces are touched, cleaned and sometimes moved every day. A coating proposal should therefore be assessed against the object’s real use, rather than a water test on an unused sample.
Map visible chrome separately from hinges, slides, adjustment mechanisms, electrical contacts and load-bearing joints. Note upholstery, wood, rubber feet and plastics beside the intended treatment area. Do not allow preparation liquid or coating to run into an assembly that cannot be inspected.
For valuable vintage furniture, obtain restoration advice before altering the finish. A transparent product may still affect future cleaning or conservation decisions. Existing pitting and worn plating should be documented as part of the object’s condition.
Select a representative location or matching sample and record the current cleaning routine. Count the normal wiping passes needed to remove handling marks without adding extra pressure. Apply the proposed coating only after the exact finish and preparation process have been approved.
When washing is permitted, repeat the same cleaning task with the same cloth and cleaner. Inspect dry appearance, residue around joints and any change in sheen. Keep the comparison modest: one favourable wipe does not establish a long service life for a busy commercial interior.
Remove or protect adjacent absorbent materials as appropriate. Arrange ventilation and the access restrictions required by the product instructions. Keep furniture out of service for the specified period, and identify the person responsible for preventing early handling or cleaning.
Write a short care card naming the approved cleaner, cloth type and treatment date. Explain that the coating is not a disinfectant, structural repair or substitute for ordinary cleaning. If staff must change their cleaner, check compatibility first. A useful result is a finish that remains visually acceptable through a repeatable care routine, with a clear point for review when cleaning effort or appearance changes.
