On a brushed finish, the visible grain provides a useful guide for care where the manufacturer recommends following it. Keeping the wiping method consistent can also make streaks easier to assess.
Inspect the clean, dry panel under suitable light and note any changes between adjacent components. The grain may run differently on doors, trim and handles. Do not assume that a grain-like appearance means the surface is bare stainless steel; check for factory coatings.
Follow the manufacturer’s care method and the installed coating instructions. Keep cloths clean and use controlled pressure. Working with the grain does not make an abrasive pad or incompatible cleaner safe for the finish.
Repeated hard rubbing on one mark can create an appearance difference even if the surrounding panel looks uniform. If the approved routine does not resolve the mark, stop and request assessment. Photograph the dry surface from several angles and include the wiping method and cleaner used. This helps distinguish remaining residue from a change in the finish.
