Brushed and Polished Stainless Steel Before Nano Coating

Brushed and polished stainless steel can show cleaning and application marks differently. Preserve the intended finish when selecting preparation and evaluating a coating test.

Identify the finish accurately

Check the manufacturer’s information where available and inspect the surface dry. Note the grain direction, reflectivity and any previous polishing or repair. A highly reflective surface may also carry a clear or decorative treatment that needs separate confirmation.

Choose finish-compatible preparation

Do not use an abrasive method simply because it removes a stain from another stainless component. Abrasion can alter the visible finish and create an uneven result. Confirm the cleaner, tools and coating with the supplier before a representative test.

Inspect under normal lighting

Evaluate the dry test from several angles and under the lighting used in the room. Look for unwanted sheen, streaks or a change in texture. Keep photographs and the accepted method in the handover. During maintenance, continue using tools and cleaners that preserve the original finish rather than trying to make every stainless surface equally glossy.
