Existing Stainless Polishes and Oils Before Coating

Some stainless care products leave material on the surface to alter its appearance. That history matters when preparing for a nano coating or diagnosing a streaky finish afterward.

Identify the products used

Keep the names and instructions of polishes, oils or protective sprays applied to the component. Explain whether they were used once or as part of regular cleaning. A shiny panel is not necessarily a clean, coating-ready surface.

Confirm a compatible removal process

Ask the coating supplier how the existing residue should be addressed for the exact finish. Do not assume a strong solvent is appropriate, particularly on factory-coated appliances or decorative panels. Use a representative test and inspect the dry result.

Simplify the future routine

After coating, follow the agreed care method and avoid reintroducing an old polish without approval. Keep the handover clear for other cleaners who may reach for familiar products. If streaking appears, provide the complete product history before attempting renewal. Removing uncertainty from the routine often makes technical assessment more straightforward.
