Caring for Coated Stainless Door Handles

Door handles receive concentrated contact and frequent cleaning. Their finish may differ from nearby panels, so identify the actual exposed material before adding protection.

Check the component specification

Determine whether the handle is bare stainless, plated, lacquered or otherwise factory-treated. Keep its care instructions available. A stainless appearance is not enough to select a cleaner, polish or coating.

Evaluate the intended use

Confirm compatibility with the required cleaning and hygiene products, as well as the handle’s functional use. If a coating trial is approved, review appearance and feel after curing. Do not describe the treatment as antimicrobial or fingerprint-proof without supporting evidence for the exact product and application.

Keep everyday care consistent

Use suitable clean cloths and the agreed cleaner, avoiding residue accumulation around joints. Do not let a decorative coating process interfere with the hardware’s operation.
